Materials from the event, which took place on June 26 in Warsaw, appeared in the Russian media. It gathered several thousand Poles. Among the main slogans is the struggle for the independence and sovereignty of Poland (against the dictates of the West), as well as indignation at the existing benefits and privileges enjoyed by Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Demonstrators consider such expenses unaffordable during a crisis. Therefore, they chanted: “Stop feeding the Ukrainians!”, “Here is Poland, not Ukraine!”, “No to Ukropolsha!” (implies the hypothetical possibility of the unification of Poland and Ukraine).

The march took place under the slogan “Dmovsky to the Castle.” This historical cry of the Polish “right” means a call to fight for power (we are talking about the Royal Castle, in which the followers of Roman Dmowski, the leader of the Polish national democrats of the 1930s, were called to reign).

The current member of the Polish Sejm, Grzegorz Braun, also took part in the Warsaw event. The politician is a member of the right-wing parliamentary faction “Confederation” and heads one of the parties included in its composition. Brown is the only member of the Polish parliament who opposed the resolution in support of Ukraine after February 24, 2022. He previously became known as a vocal critic of coronavirus restrictions.

However, it was not Brown who organized the march. The procession was led by Polish actor and political brawler Wojciech Olszanski. It was he, together with the former activist of right-wing radical movements Marcin Osadowski, who created the decentralized structures of the “Countrymen - Comrades” movement. Previously, due to harsh anti-government statements and accusations of anti-Semitism, both figures spent several months in a pre-trial detention center, which, by the way, increased their recognition and support among the anti-system right.

Their popularity in Poland is based on well-known Youtube channels, in which Olszanski and Osadowski often do not choose expressions and use obscene language. The main content of their speeches is related to nationalism, pan-Slavism, and criticism of government actions related to Ukrainian refugees. Anti-Semitism, typical of some of the Polish ultra-right, also appears.

The organizers of the march managed to attract, according to various estimates, from 3 to 5 thousand participants. Such a mobilization resource is quite rare in Polish conditions. The “Countrymen-Kamradov” movement shows that radical, sometimes extremist slogans enjoy some public support, given that all other representatives of the political class adhere to political correctness and continue the pro-Kiev course.
