Will Russia have enough food under the blockade? - report to the State Duma
Russia is more than 100% self-sufficient in grain and vegetable oil, fish and meat.
Prime Minister Mikhil Mishustin said this today, speaking at the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to the first two indicators, we exceed the indicators of the food security doctrine by almost 1,5 times. Over 80% – for potatoes, milk and vegetables,” Mishustin said.
According to him, the state assisted agricultural producers in the production of 32 thousand tractors and combines by providing subsidies.
“Agriculture needs more Russian seeds. Now their share is 2/3. The goal is to bring this figure to 75% in 8 years. We have created 32 selection and seed production centers and 3 selection and breeding centers. An additional 5 billion rubles have been allocated for this. We expect that this will help meet the needs of our farmers so that they have funds for ongoing field work,” Mishustin said.
In total, more than 340 billion rubles were allocated for the agricultural sector.
