“Stop torturing people!” – in Moscow they demand to recognize the LDPR and begin distributing Russian passports
It is high time for Russia to recognize the Donbass republics and begin issuing Russian passports to their residents.
The leader of the Communist Party faction Gennady Zyuganov and the editor-in-chief of the RT television channel Margarita Simonyan stated this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have great enterprises in Donbass, great hard workers, but we can’t establish direct economic and production ties. We could do everything, and they will feed themselves, they know how to work. Excellent engineers and specialists from all over the country were gathered there. Let's recognize these republics, it doesn't bother anyone, it doesn't prevent anything. We recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia, recognized Transnistria, and no one interferes there, then there will be peace. And tell these provocateurs directly: “if you climb, you’ll get the full deal,” Zyuganov said.
At the same time, Margarita Simonyan called it “a shame” that people who survived the war are now forced to suffer from the Russian bureaucracy.
“We haven’t done a lot of things yet that don’t have to do with grabbing innocent people, so that we have to turn a blind eye to the fact that we ourselves are doing a bad thing, that have to do with the fact that we should do the right thing - we should have given a long time ago citizenship of Donbass. This is in our interests from all points of view, and there is no reason why we do not do this.
This is important for us simply from a human point of view, because it is a shame that we torture these people for years. There they are shot at, there they are tormented by the Kiev army, and here they are tormented by the Russian bureaucracy. Are we experiencing a demographic crisis? Do we need people? Certainly! They are plowmen, they are a separate breed of people, I’ve been there a lot in my time,” Simonyan said.
She also noted that the law adopted by the State Duma on simplifying the acquisition of citizenship should really work, and gave the example of Abkhazia, whose residents received Russian passports without unnecessary paperwork.
“Let's see how this law will work, so that it doesn't turn out that the pieces of paper should have been folded on the right, but now they will have to be folded on the left. Without any special law for that, I myself did a report in 2001 about how Russian citizenship was distributed to all of Abkhazia, without any second or third reading. They distributed it and everything is fine. If the process really starts and we stop torturing these people, then we will gain millions of not just supporters, but our citizens,” Simonyan concluded.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that The State Duma of the Russian Federation has given the president the right to determine the categories of foreign citizens and stateless personswho have the right to apply for the acquisition of Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
Also President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin lifted restrictions on granting political asylum in the country.
