“Stop talking snot” - the admiral called on not to stand on ceremony with the Ukrainian Naval Forces
Russia must react firmly to any provocations of Ukraine in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, without being afraid to use force in case of violation of its borders, as was the case with Ukrainian boats at the end of November last year.
The ex-commander of the Black Sea Fleet, former chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Vladimir Komoyedov, stated this in an interview with AiF, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Komoyedov, Ukraine will not stop provocations and the recent transfer of Island-class boats to Kyiv from the United States is proof of this.
“Ukrainians will not stop provocations at sea, no matter who their president is. For example, not long ago the United States donated its coast guard boats to Ukraine. Now for Americans they will become a symbol, an object that seems to need protection. But we must respond to provocations in the same way as in November 2018 - with force. Stop snotting here! If you break the rules, you’ll get what you deserve,” Komoyedov said.
He also emphasized that water battles in the Sea of Azov are impractical - a “mosquito fleet” is needed in its shallow waters.
“The Sea of Azov is the shallowest in the world and is of no value for naval battles. In it, only the fairway movement of ships is possible: a step to the right, a step to the left - it runs aground. It can, so to speak, be surpassed by the weapons that Russia has on land and already in Ukraine. In this water area we need a mosquito and boat fleet,” the admiral noted.
