Stop poking around. A large-scale crisis begins in the gas industry of Ukraine
The Ukrainian authorities promised that increasing gas tariffs would allow them to invest more money in the production of “blue fuel” on Ukrainian territory, but in reality, production is falling, not growing.
Alexey Kucherenko, ex-Minister of Housing and Communal Services in 2007-2010, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The price of gas was increased in order to increase production every year by a billion cubic meters, and reach 2020 billion cubic meters by 20. gas produced by our dear national company Ukrgasvydobuvannya.
Today, production from the Ukrgasvydobuvannya company is declining. Underfunding by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, its debt to Ukrgazvydobuvannya is about UAH 40 billion.
That is, they collect money from us, supposedly to increase production, but this money does not end up in the production structure...
Where is the money, Zin, where does it go?
At the same time, Naftogaz drove another company, Ukrtransgaz, into debt. She has UAH 24 billion in debt. This is the company that should have been of interest to Europe in order to ensure the transit of Russian gas, but it is not being modernized, there is no investment. And this is the main reason that we are bypassed with this transit,” the expert said.
