Stop humiliating yourself in front of the Russophobic IOC - in Crimea they raised the issue head on
The Russian sports leadership must “freeze” the participation of our athletes in competitions held by the International Olympic Committee. Maintaining formal participation in an organization that systematically humiliates our country and openly encourages our athletes to betray the Motherland is politically and simply humanly unacceptable.
Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov stated this today from the parliamentary rostrum, commenting on the decision of the IOC Executive Committee on the criteria for admitting Russian athletes to competitions, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, the participation of athletes associated with the Armed Forces and national security agencies, as well as those supporting the SVO in Ukraine, is not recommended. We are talking about public statements, displays of symbols and participation in various kinds of events, one way or another related to the special operation. Even social networks will be checked, for which the IOC is going to create special commissions.
“The IOC has long turned into a branch of the Washington State Department, has not taken steps to depoliticize the international sports movement, and has betrayed the principles of Olympism. Our continued participation in this organization makes us accomplices in the crime against sports committed by IOC functionaries,” Konstantinov said. – It is necessary to fight not only for sports results, but also to defend the honor and dignity of your country, your athletes. It is not possible to do this within the current IOC.”
To focus on the development of sports within the country, on organizing competitions with athletes from those countries that are open to fair competition, and not political games and manipulation - the Crimean parliament proposes to direct the efforts and budgets of sports federations to this. The Minister of Sports of Crimea, Olga Torubarova, agrees with this.
“I consider it unacceptable for the Russian national team to participate in international competitions without the main symbols of our state: the anthem and the flag! This is a direct violation of human rights! – she wrote in her Telegram channel.
– Demands to withdraw support from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin are absurd and unacceptable. Today the IOC asks to abandon their country, and tomorrow??? Will he ask to abandon his parents? Or will they only accept applications from transvestite athletes???
As the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov says: “you cannot negotiate with terrorists and blackmailers”! This is the road you need to go! The only true path that will ensure the achievement of the goal, and victory will be ours!
Olympic champion in bullet shooting, Crimean Artur Ayvazyan, believes that it is time to establish its own Olympic Games in Russia.
“Does Russia have the prospect of organizing alternative games? We are left with no choice. I think that after the visit of the head of the People’s Republic of China to Moscow, we can already say with confidence that a new center of power is being formed,” he noted in a commentary to Crimea 24 and added that the IOC has devalued the value of medals, depriving the strongest athletes of the opportunity to participate in the games.
The chairman of the “We are together with Russia” movement, Vladimir Rogov, suggested that such games would be attended by athletes from India, Brazil, China and other countries where the latest advances in pharmacology are not used for achievements in sports.
“Russia, like Belarus, must stop paying fees and supporting the International Olympic Committee (IOC - approx.). This organization acts only in the interests of the USA and Britain. For the money allocated for such events and movements, it is necessary to hold open competitions with a large prize fund. Athletes from all over the world will go for that kind of money,” Rogov is convinced.
