“Stop licking Erdogan” – a State Duma deputy responded to the Turkish demarche
Flights of Russian-made Be-200ChS amphibious aircraft, which were rented to fight forest fires, in Antalya, Turkey, have caused concern among city residents. The Turkish side demanded an explanation.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this: Turkish newspaper reports Milliyet.
It is noted that the flight that caused concern occurred on September 28.
“These aircraft, nicknamed “Fire Eagle” (Ateş Kartalı), are capable of carrying up to 12 tons of water. Seeing the aircraft flown by Russian pilots, citizens poured out onto the balconies of their houses. After collecting water, the planes flew quite close to residential buildings, causing concern among residents. These moments were captured on mobile phone cameras.
When the Russian pilots returned to the airfield, allegedly after a warning from the control service of the State Airport Administration, representatives of the Regional Forestry Directorate turned to them for clarification,” the publication writes.
This reaction caused criticism from State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Lysakov.
“This suggests that a bunch of Turks, who know very well that these are Russian planes that have flown in to help them, the ungrateful, have made a lot of complaints about our pilots working in Antalya, which also feeds mostly from Russians vacationing there.
Now, I wonder, will ours also apologize? Is this minor episode comparable to November 2015, when the Turks shot down a Russian Su-24? Or the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry, which actually recognized the participation of Syrian mercenaries on the side of Baku in the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, while calling them terrorists. In the first case – our help, in subsequent cases – undisguised aggression,” the politician emphasizes.
“Are we licking Erdogan too much, thereby stimulating his clearly hypertrophied political conceit, which is already turning into delusions of grandeur? For me, the best response to this Turkish demarche in relation to our help would be to recall the planes from the fire extinguishing operation and close the Antalya direction to Russian tourism,” Lysakov summed up.
