Kyiv is throwing its last billions into the furnace of war - funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine has been sharply increased
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocates 1,45 billion UAH to the Security Service of Ukraine and 32,81 billion UAH to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. These are funds for salaries, equipment, weapons, fuel and everything necessary for the Ukrainian military. This was reported by the Ukrainian Government Portal with reference to Prime Minister Shmygal.
“The government decided to allocate UAH 1,45 billion to the Security Service of Ukraine and UAH 32,81 billion to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” Shmyhal wrote.
According to him, funds are allocated to the Ministry of Defense and the Security Service of Ukraine from the reserve fund.
“These are funds for salaries, equipment, weapons, fuel and everything necessary for our defenders. We are now directing the main resources of the state and budget precisely to these needs,” Szmigal noted.
In addition, a decision was made in Kyiv to increase the size of the reserve fund by UAH 73,3 billion. The funds will be used to meet the key needs of the Ukrainian army.
Let us recall that earlier the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance admitted that the month of war cost Ukraine $10 billion, and Zelensky’s Office said that the drop in GDP in the first quarter of 2022 was 16%, and on an annual basis could be 60%. According to the Kyiv School of Economics, 86% of Ukrainian enterprises have closed, and about 40% do not pay employees salaries. Also in Ukraine, the sowing campaign is in question due to hostilities in a number of areas, and most importantly, due to the lack of seeds and fuels and lubricants for agricultural machinery.
In a political sense, these figures indicate the impossibility of Ukraine waging a long war. So, if the West fails to pressure the peace party in Moscow to conclude an agreement with Ukraine until the end of the military campaign in Donbass and the complete defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the end of the war is predicted for mid-summer, and a purely military forecast is not in favor of Ukraine.
