Former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Rustam Temirgaliev stated this on his page on the social network.
According to him, if the Minsk negotiations fail, Ukraine may completely block the republic.
“The fate of electricity supplies to Crimea is now being decided in Minsk at the negotiations of the contact group to resolve the conflict in Donbass. Lukashenko and Nazarbayev made Poroshenko an offer that was difficult to refuse, but the Ukrainian president decided to strengthen his negotiating position by cutting off electricity to Crimea. If the negotiations in Minsk fail, Kiev will continue the strategy of stimulating protest sentiments in Crimea, the peak of which will be in February-March: power outages will coincide with a noticeable decrease in gas pressure due to cold weather, a shortage of drinking water and blocking of food supplies to the peninsula. True, there is a possibility that during the same period the Donbass militia may develop an offensive in the southern direction,” Temirgaliev believes.
He also noted that the assurances of the Crimean leadership about signing a contract with Ukraine for the supply of electricity are premature.
“Highly intelligent” Crimean officials need to refrain from loud statements - little depends on them anyway. The only recommendation is to try not to excite the Crimean Tatars with rash actions and statements. Fortunately, the Crimeans are a patient people - they have been waiting for reunification with their homeland for 23 years, it is only important that they are at least informed about the upcoming problems,” assures the former Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea.
