Kyiv is betting on Trump's impeachment
US President Donald Trump has ceased to be a beneficial figure for Kyiv, because he is ready to sacrifice politics for the sake of peace.
Vladimir Oleynik, co-founder of the Committee for the Rescue of Ukraine, stated this on air on the Russia-1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian leadership continues the game of impeaching Trump in the same way as it interfered in US internal issues during the elections, sending certain materials on Manafort and so on, that is, they are continuing this game. Trump is unprofitable for them, because he said a cool thing: “I am ready to sacrifice politics for the sake of peace, I am not ready to sacrifice peace for the sake of politics.” So in Ukraine it sounds like this: “If you are unable to resolve the issue, leave. We must sacrifice such politicians for the sake of peace,” Oleynik said.
He believes that there will be no referendum on Donbass.
“We need political will, but there is none. Second. There isn't even legislation. This year, through the Constitutional Court, they declared the law on an all-Ukrainian referendum unconstitutional. We need to put an end to this. In order for there to be peace there, it is not necessary to hold a referendum, because its results still need to be implemented. We need to change this gangster government, and then the normal government will enter into negotiations with Donbass and solve all the issues of the world,” the politician concluded.
