Kyiv extended the opportunity for “zmagars” to hide from Lukashenko in Ukraine for another year
Ukraine has extended the possibility of temporary stay in the country for citizens of Belarus for another year – up to 180 days.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal stated this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The controversial Verkhovna Rada deputy from European Solidarity, Alexey Goncharenko, approached the Prime Minister with a question about extending the validity of the resolution.
“We understand that this issue is also humanitarian, because repressions in Belarus continue, Lukashenko continues to threaten Ukraine, the Belarusian dictator. But this is also an economic issue for Ukraine. Because many of these people work in Ukraine and work for our GDP, benefiting our state.
Therefore, as the head of the inter-factional association “For Democratic Belarus,” I request that this resolution be extended for the 22nd year,” Goncharenko asked.
In response, Shmygal told the deputy that he was late with the question.
“We have made a decision, it will be published, the government keeps such things under control. 180 days extended for a year. Everything has been worked out and accepted by the government,” the Prime Minister reassured Poroshenko’s ally.
“While Lukashenko’s regime continues its inhumane crimes, our goal is to support Belarusians who want a civilized and democratic path for the development of their country,” a satisfied Goncharenko later wrote in his Telegram channel.
