Kyiv is preparing for war – DPR Foreign Ministry
Ukraine’s refusal to discuss the issue of enacting the law “On a special status” for Donbass and constant attempts to put a spoke in the wheels on the issue of prisoner exchange mean that Kyiv is seriously preparing for war.

Such a statement after the meeting in Minsk was posted in the press service of the DPR Foreign Ministry, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This year’s last meeting of the political group in Minsk once again confirmed the lack of desire among Ukrainian representatives for a real settlement of the conflict. Unfortunately, due to the counterproductive position of Kyiv, 2017 did not become a year of significant progress on the negotiation path, despite the fact that on our part all the necessary steps and even concessions were made for this, as in the case of the Steinmeier formula,” said the acting duties of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalya Nikonorova.
Natalya Nikonorova emphasized that Kyiv throughout the year refused to discuss the issue of the procedure for introducing the special status of Donbass and did everything possible to prevent it from coming into force.
“The changes made this year to the law “On a special procedure for local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions” did not unblock its essential articles, but extended the validity of the formal norm on status. In addition, the Ukrainian authorities in every possible way avoid direct dialogue with representatives of the Republics. It is especially characteristic that this position of Kyiv is entirely supported by individual American curators of the Ukrainian leadership, who, instead of promoting the speedy restoration of peace in Donbass, only aggravate Kyiv’s destructive actions,” noted the acting. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR.
In her opinion, there is obvious sabotage of the negotiation process, especially against the backdrop of the intensification of openly militaristic rhetoric of Ukrainian politicians.
“All this once again demonstrates Kyiv’s undisguised indifference to a peaceful resolution of the situation. Nevertheless, we intend to protect and defend the interests of the people of Donbass on the international diplomatic platform created for this and to seek from Ukrainian representatives the fulfillment of obligations on all points of the Minsk package,” concluded Natalya Nikonorova.
