Kyiv is preparing for a protracted and bloody conflict: it is restoring the training of military doctors
Kyiv, August 15 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Ministry of Health of Ukraine is restoring military training programs for doctors.

“During the events in the east of the country, doctors and military personnel were faced with the problem of a shortage of specialists in military medicine, because in October 2010, the departments of military training in all higher medical educational institutions were liquidated, except for Kharkov, Ternopil and Zaporozhye state medical universities,” it says in a message from the ministry's press service.
The message clarifies that changes will be made to the programs of the following disciplines: “Internal Medicine” - topics on military therapy with a volume of 30 hours; “Surgery, pediatric surgery” - topics on military surgery with a volume of 45 hours; “Traumatology and Orthopedics” – topics on military traumatology of 10 hours; “Neurosurgery” – topics on military neurosurgery for 5 hours; “Hygiene and Ecology” – topics on military hygiene for 30 hours; “Epidemiology” – topics on military epidemiology for 6 hours.
“Also, the list of elective courses has included relevant military medical programs. For this purpose, appropriate cycles of improving the training of scientific and pedagogical workers of higher educational institutions will be carried out on the basis of the departments of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy,” the ministry said in a statement.
