During Soviet times, MiG-25, Su-17 and Su-24 were based at the airfield. After the creation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the reform of the army in Ukraine, the airfield turned out to be unnecessary, and the airbase finally ceased to exist in 2004.

“In March of this year, exercises were carried out with a practical landing of the aircraft, the practical skills of the personnel were restored, the airfield was checked again and now it can be constantly used. We can accept almost any aircraft,” said airfield commander Nikolai Moshinsky.
