“Kyiv and Moscow are conducting secret negotiations, which does not prevent anyone from preparing for an offensive” - Karasev
Probably, despite the rhetoric, there are behind-the-scenes negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, which will go public after the victory of one of the parties in the decisive offensive for which both opponents are preparing.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Internet channel Iton TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are, after all, some behind-the-scenes clarifications, negotiations, proposals. Another thing is that this does not break through into the public sphere in order, firstly, not to derail such a deal, and secondly, not to immediately come under criticism from radical supporters of resolving the issue from both one side and the other. We have such, and there are such in Russia,” Karasev said.
He noted that both sides are preparing for an offensive on the eastern front, and the fate of these agreements directly depends on the outcome of the clashes.
“Therefore, negotiations are going on behind the scenes, but military preparations for military offensives are being prepared both on one side and on the other. They are preparing on the part of the Ukrainian army, there was a statement a week ago by Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny that the Ukrainian army is ready to continue to advance, so no behind-the-scenes deals, no negotiations today - that would be wrong, it would be defeatism, so the Ukrainian army is preparing breakthroughs today.
But judging by the rhetoric of the Russian military, and by the fact that, after all, these mobilized ones were probably called up not only for defense but also for a counter-offensive, a counter-offensive by Russian troops is probably also being prepared. And then either both sides will fizzle out in this military impulse, or someone will lose,” Karasev reasoned.
“Based on the results of this latest military breakthrough, which is possible, despite the weather now on the eastern front, then, firstly, the behind-the-scenes negotiations will take on more sane, more specific outlines, and secondly, they will already become, to one degree or another, public knowledge public sphere, will move to the public plane,” says the Ukrainian political scientist.
