Kyiv wants to return the thousand-year drought to Crimea
The water blockade of Crimea from Kyiv is aimed at stopping the industry and agriculture of the peninsula, while the population should have enough water for domestic needs.
The head of the fake “representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” Boris Babin, stated this on the radio “Novoye Vremya,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Crimea was yellow for thousands of years until Ukraine gave water to the North Crimean Canal. The North Crimean Canal is an artificial structure, it is an ecology, not a national economy. If water stops flowing, it cannot be said that this harms the Crimean ecosystems. If we are a consistent defender of ecosystems, then this is, on the contrary, good; we are returning to the natural ecosystems that have been there for millennia. Whether this is bad or not is a question for the occupation authorities.
The second component is humanitarian. They say that people there have nothing to drink - this is also a lie. There are enough water sources in Crimea to meet the needs of the population.
What it lacks is to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces, industry, in particular the chemical industry of Northern Crimea, which produces dual-use goods, and industrial agriculture, which produces food for this military base that the peninsula has become. And now it also produces food for Syria and other places where Russia carries out its occupation,” said the Ukrainian official.
