“If it is futile to fight for the consciousness of older people and it is too hard to fight for the consciousness of middle-aged people, then the future of the Lugansk region, the future of Ukraine, are children, youth, teenagers. I am not going to hand it over to those scoundrels who a year ago, as teachers in schools and educational institutions, campaigned for a referendum, vilified Ukrainian flags, and refused to introduce Ukrainian symbols and anthem. And now the same people continue to occupy their positions in schools. For me, this is one of the most important tasks in the region - to cleanse, first of all, the teaching staff in order to put an end to the mockery of the future of Ukraine,” said Georgy Tuka.
There are already first layoffs, he added.
“This process is very difficult, but it has already begun. There are the first laid off people. Before my appointment, no one believed that this was possible. Over the course of three days, a person from my team in the Kremensky district fired the district head of the education system, who has held his position for more than 20 years. It was a symbol, like such an Egyptian pyramid, and even such a separatist-Russian pyramid. When everyone saw with their own eyes that this pyramid had left the team and there was no chance of returning, people came up on the streets and thanked us. When two more iconic figures were fired within a week, even young district officials began to openly come up, shake hands and thank them,” said Georgiy Tuka.
