Kyiv hopes for help from the American boa constrictor in the fight against Russia
US sanctions against the Russian Federation act slowly, so their effect is not noticeable from the outside.
This opinion was expressed on the ZIK TV channel by Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Georgiy Tuka, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Predominantly our European and American partners have a tactic of applying long-term sanctions. You shouldn’t expect an instant reaction to the introduction of sanctions; you shouldn’t deceive yourself. But at the same time, the United States has been using the so-called boa constrictor tactics for a very long time, when they, through sanctions against some states or enterprises, step by step tighten the belt around the financial neck, every day stronger and stronger,” the official said.
At the same time, he referred to the statement of the American State Department that sanctions will remain in effect until Russia abandons Donbass and Crimea.
“By the way, just today I read a statement from the US State Department regarding the so-called elections held in the occupied territory. It clearly states in black and white that the United States will continue to strengthen the effect of sanctions mechanisms on Russia until Moscow fully implements the Minsk agreements and returns Ukraine’s control over Crimea. I quoted the State Department’s statement almost verbatim,” Tuca added.
Let us recall that in 2014, the Ukrainian media circulated information from Kyiv propagandist Oleg Ponomar, who claimed that the West had launched a certain “Anaconda-2” plan, the goal of which would be to strangle Russia.
But in the end, as Kyiv experts admitted, instead of Russia “Anaconda” for some reason began to strangle Ukraine
