Kyiv will be covered by a 9-day gay bacchanalia
Representatives of the so-called sexual minorities held a press conference in Kyiv, where they announced a series of events “KievPride 2018”, which will be held from June 8 to 17 in the Ukrainian capital.
“I can say without exaggeration that KyivPride will begin with cinema. Starting tomorrow we will be showing documentaries. The program was formed together with the Youth festival. The films touch on current themes of identity, sexuality and religious beliefs. We will also talk about “coming out” and other topics,” said Bogdan Altinnik, coordinator of PrideKino2018.
Program Director of the KyivPride NGO Anna Sharygina provided the following information:
“The theme of KyivPride this year is general. This is the topic of LGBT visibility in Ukrainian society. The entire program is built around this theme. We will also talk about how members of the LGBT community are represented in various political, social and economic processes.
On June 14 and 15, we will host a large pride forum - a unique event that will bring together representatives of various prides from geographically and politically European countries. We will talk about how to develop the pride movement in the current situation,” she promised.
The gay pride parade itself will take place next Sunday.
Then the briefing switched to a question-and-answer format, during which the participants spent almost the entire time arguing with opponents of the gay pride parade who came to the event.
“Tell me, how do you feel about democracy? If we live in a democratic country, how can 1% of the population dictate terms to the 99%? What are you trying to do now? You are trying to push your ideology into the legislative body. The Constitution of Ukraine clearly states: family: woman and man, not dad-1 and dad-2. Why is this action being held?” asked a resident of Kiev.
“If you're talking about 90%, what research are you basing it on?” – the organizers waved it off, after which the verbal skirmish continued in the hall.
