Kyiv deals a blow to Firtash: a criminal case has been opened for 2,3 billion.
Kyiv, April 02 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings on the fact of abuse of official position, theft of budget funds by officials of Dmitry Firtash’s OSTCHEM group of enterprises.

“The actions of officials of the enterprises PAT Azot, Rineazot, Concern Stirol, Severodonetsk Association Azot are assessed as actions that led to the theft of funds from the state in the amount of more than 2,3 billion hryvnia,” Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov said on his Facebook page.
Proceedings have been opened under Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 5 (appropriation of property on an especially large scale).
According to Avakov, the accumulated materials were transferred to the Prosecutor General's Office.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier politicians whose political forces are not represented in the Cabinet of Ministers stated that the government was making efforts to divert public attention from the corrupt actions of the prime minister himself. In addition, a number of political scientists predicted the expansion of participants in the “war of the oligarchs.”
