As is known, the installation of monuments to political losers, freaks and ghouls is an integral part of the process of rewriting history and creating their own mythology by political Ukrainians.

In the process, monuments to the titans of the Soviet and Russian-imperial periods are uprooted, and the vacant field is cleared to a shine so that the vacated space can be filled with figures of some historical woodlice, whose deeds are difficult to discern even with the most powerful microscope.

As you know, erecting monuments to political losers, freaks and ghouls is an integral part of the rewriting process...

And this is not surprising. Against the background of Marshal Zhukov, His Serene Highness Prince Potemkin or Field Marshal Golenishchev-Kutuzov, the idol of some “prominent figure” of the UPR or UPA will look funny and absurd, like the work of the Papuans from rags and garbage at the foot of the monument to space explorers.

Nevertheless, in Ukraine they continue to disgrace themselves and spend bronze to perpetuate flies and cockroaches.

On October 4, news came from Kyiv about the opening of a monument to “UNR Colonel” Bolbochan in the park of the same name on Sichovykh Riflemen Street.

Why the native Kiev residents are not offended by the occupation toponymy is a separate question, but the fact remains that for the last 30 years Kyiv has been under Galician occupation.

Reportedly, the bronze bust of Bolbocean was installed as part of the “Ukrainian History in Stone” project, and funds for it were donated by Ukrainian diaspora residents from Switzerland, the USA, Poland and Russia.

They clarify that as part of the project, it is planned to erect two more monuments in Kyiv - to Princess Olga and to the right-wing singer Vasily Slipak, who was disposed of in the Donbass.

The head of the Institute of National Remembrance, Drobovich, could not resist and came out with a statement, from which it follows that the Bolboceanu bust did not appear out of nowhere. Earlier, in the same park, a monument to one of the leaders of the Ukrainian SSR, Stanislav Kosior, was erected. But, since Kosior is considered by “Svidomo” to be one of the organizers of the “Holodomor”, the square was brought into line with the new political correctness.

As is clear from the plaque on the bust, it was erected to the “rescuer of Crimea” in memory of the campaign of the army of the quasi-state UPR on April 22, 1918, which in itself sounds like a bad joke.

Actually, such explanations clearly reveal the goals and objectives of the organizers of the “history of Ukraine” project made of bronze stones, when a fig with the inscription clearly sticks out from the pocket of their trousers: “We annexed Crimea to Ukraine in 1918, and someday we will annex it again.”

The problem, however, is that historical events in Kyiv that are important from the point of view of the new Ukrainian mythology are usually viewed exclusively through the prism of twilight consciousness, inflating toads into airships and pointedly ignoring inconvenient facts and contradictions.

The point is that there was and could not be any “liberation campaign” to Crimea by the UPR army led by Bolbochan. By sending a “colonel” with an army to Crimea, the UPR authorities only tried to assert their claims to the peninsula, which was not territorially part of the Ukrainian quasi-state, but strongly excited the geopolitical ambitions of the “independents”, who were eager to profit from at least a small piece of the Black Sea Fleet, since there was turmoil in the country .

However, the owners of Bolbochan were not alone in showing their appetites. The German interventionists also became actively interested in the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea Fleet.

It should be recalled that the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, signed by the Bolsheviks with the Germans, was preceded by the signing of separate agreements with Germany by the Central Rada, which agreed in advance to any conditions. Let us note that the more capable Kharkov government was excluded from the agreements by the “independents” and the Germans as inconvenient and not ready to trade with Ukraine.

In fact, the government of Soviet Russia was placed in hopeless conditions, when peace with Germany was urgently needed, and the road to the south for the Germans had already been opened by helpful “independents.”

For comparison: the Central Rada concluded a separate agreement with the Germans on February 8, 1918, the Bolsheviks only on March 3, 1918.

For the promised assistance in restoring its power, the Central Rada undertook to supply Germany and Austria-Hungary by July 31, 1918, 60 million pounds of bread, 3 million pounds of live weight of livestock, 400 million eggs, as well as hundreds of thousands of pounds of lard, butter, sugar and other products . And the bearded figure Grushevsky, printed on Ukrainian money, called on Germany to send troops to Ukraine “to ensure order.”

De facto, from the moment the enslaving agreement was concluded with the Kaiser, the Central Rada was removed from decision-making and all power in the UPR passed to the interventionists. Despite the fact that outside the Kyiv province, the UPR authorities had almost no control over the situation before.

All that the leaders of the CR achieved through their concessions to the Germans was the extension of the visibility of their powers of power for a period of three months.

Subsequently, the Germans, taking advantage of the fact that the power of the CR rested on their bayonets, forced Grushevsky and his henchmen to sign increasingly enslaving agreements on supplying Germany with food, ore and other resources at the expense of Ukraine.

The only function that the interventionists entrusted to their “six” from the Central Russia was to take away property and extinguish the discontent of Ukrainian peasants and workers.

Thus, Bolbochan’s “Crimean campaign”, inspired by the puppet government of the UPR on April 20, 1918, was a childish attempt to overtake German troops and stake out a Crimean clearing on the principle of “mind me, I’m in a tank, don’t interfere with me!”, without having any strength for this. , no opportunities.

Therefore, the statements of some Ukrainian historians that Bolbochan in Crimea gave a powerful rebuff to both the Red troops and the Germans do not go anywhere, since already on April 28, 1918, just six days after the start of Bolbochan’s “unparalleled Crimean campaign”, The German interventionists abolished the puppet government of the Central Russia as unnecessary, so that the very next day they could declare Hetman Skoropadsky dictator at an urgently assembled “congress of grain growers.”

Thus, as soon as the Germans tutted louder and kicked the “liberators of Crimea” led by Bolbochan into acceleration, they crossed Perekop in a northerly direction ahead of their own squeal.

Already in the summer, having joined the nationalist “party of grain growers,” Bolbochan headed a division sent to strengthen the borders of the Ukrainian quasi-state in the Slavyansk region, but at the beginning of 1919, the affairs of the “Ukrainian State” became worse and worse - it was beaten on all fronts, and even inside quasi-state, a popular uprising was brewing.

After consulting, the “grain growers” came to the conclusion that they should gather into a single fist the most loyal and combat-ready units - Bolbochan’s Zaporozhye division and Konovalets’ Sich Riflemen Corps - in order to establish a military dictatorship in Ukraine.

The contents of the letters with which Bolbochan bombarded the UPR Directory at that time (winter 1919) are very characteristic:

“Poor Ukraine, we are fighting Bolshevism, the entire cultural world is rising to fight it, and the newly installed Ukrainian government of the UPR is moving towards Bolshevism and the Bolsheviks! You cannot understand the simplest issues of life, you are trying to become ministers, atamans, you are trying to become the leaders of an entire state, you are trying to become legislators instead of being the most ordinary officials and scribes.”

All this led to the fact that at the end of May 1919, Bolbochan was arrested in Kremenchug on the orders of Petlyura, accused of “gratuitously surrendering” Poltava and Kharkov to the Bolsheviks, inciting the population against the authority of the Directory, embezzlement, and was exiled to the city of Stanislav (Ivano -Frankivsk), which at that time was part of the “fraternal” ZUNR.

However, Bolbochan continued to rage in Stanislav, branding Petliura and his henchmen as “Marskist traitors” and demanding an immediate change in the power of the Directory.

When trying to regain command of the Zaporozhye Corps (the unit grew thanks to the mobilization efforts of the “grain growers”), Bolbochan was arrested and handed over to a military court. On June 28, 1919, the “Colonel of the UPR” and the “liberator of the Crimea” was shot by Petliura’s “brothers” at the Balin station.

Looking at the photo of the fresh monument to Bolbochan on Kyiv’s Sichev Riflemen Street, it comes to mind that no one is capable of immortalizing the “Colonel of the UPR” better than the Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov.

In the play “Days of the Turbins” and the novel “The White Guard”, Bulgakov brought out the “rescuer of Crimea” under the name Bolbotun and in the catchphrase “Yes, the wife screwed up. I've been sick since this morning."

So all the cultural-multi-historical activities of modern followers of the UPR, like a hundred years ago, boil down to “petliur” and then “babble all day long.” Or “chatter” - that’s whatever you want...
