According to the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense of the proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, on September 5 at about 20.40, taking advantage of the ceasefire on the part of the militia, a column of Ukrainian tanks attempted to enter the city of Volnovakha. “The column was stopped by artillery fire from the DPR army on the outskirts of the city,” the militia headquarters said.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 5, at a meeting of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, a protocol was signed on an immediate ceasefire in Donbass from 18:00. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ordered a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine from 18:00. The leaders of Novorossiya announced a similar order for their troops.
