Kyiv insists that peacekeepers must engage in “de-occupation of Donbass”
The peacekeeping mission in Donbass should be aimed only at helping Kyiv return the region to Ukrainian control.
Alexander Levchenko, adviser to the minister on issues of “temporarily occupied territories,” said this during a press conference on the topic “What should a peacekeeping mission in Donbass be like,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We expect and see that the process of preparing this resolution is not easy, but it will take some more time, maybe a couple more months, because the future text of the Security Council must be perfect so that it becomes a kind of plan to help the de-occupation of Donbass. The vision of our ministry is this: we need a mission, first of all, with the task of helping to de-occupy temporarily uncontrolled territories. If there is no such task, the question arises, why is it needed at all?” Levchenko noted.
