Political scientist from Donetsk Roman Manekin told Navigator about this.
“This is a waste of energy and, possibly, human lives. This idea is completely futile. Armed columns have nothing to do in the city - they will be burned like flies on a spit. Donbass has risen. And this cannot be solved by military methods. All the actions that are being carried out can stimulate Putin’s response, mobilize and activate the military component in the Donbass region, but will not solve the problem in principle, but will only drag it into a tight knot,” the expert predicts.
“The people who seized power in Kyiv resorted to these methods simply because they couldn’t come up with anything better. What's the goal? Drive miners into the mines so that they work better, improve the economy, and the Kyiv authorities would present the results of their labor as their own? Even the Germans failed to do this during the war. Of course, they can try to mess things up, but there will be no effective effect from this,” Roman Manekin emphasized.
