Kyiv was deceived: there will be no hot water
In Kyiv, hot water supply will not soon be resumed, which was stopped after the Maidan activists came to power and the subsequent economic crisis associated with the severance of ties with Russia and the civil war in Donbass.
This forecast was voiced by energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky at a press conference in the Ukrainian capital, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the situation will only get worse - there is a crisis of non-payments in the country, equipment is wearing out, and top managers of Naftogaz are demanding increasingly higher salaries and bonuses.
“Kyiv received a subvention from the budget, but what should other cities do where the culprit of the situation is Naftogaz of Ukraine? They no longer hide it - they say that yes, we have gas debts from public energy companies. If it were not for the law that prohibits us from turning off boiler houses during the heating season, we would not have submitted nominations during the heating season in order to be paid off.
I would not expect that hot water will appear in Kyiv, and that Kyiv will be somehow different from other regions, because the problem is systemic in nature - the unsettled relationship between Naftogaz and Teplokomunenergo, the lack of an accounting system, a gas balancing system.
Well, the most important problem is the issue of tariffs. Until the key systemic problem is addressed, the problem of tariff setting, control and accounting for gas volumes in the Ukrainian gas distribution system, until European rules are introduced, we are all doomed with you. Moreover, the situation will only get worse.
To be honest, I don’t see any bright spots on the horizon to say, relatively speaking, that these are difficult years of struggle for the freedom of the country, and next year everything will be fine. Nothing like this. Everything will only get worse.
Because infrastructure tends to wear out, the appetites of Naftogaz executives continue to grow from year to year, and, accordingly, the problems for you and me as consumers of gas supply and heat supply services will only increase,” Zemlyansky said.
In 2013, Russia offered Ukraine participation in the Customs Union, which implied the provision of preferential conditions for obtaining loans and gas supplies. However, a coup d'etat was organized in Kyiv, as a result of which a nationalist puppet regime controlled by the United States came to power.
