Kyiv accused Macron of terrible “zrada”
The meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin demonstrated that the West is giving the Kremlin carte blanche.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ogryzko stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You see, he [Putin] doesn’t give a damn if we give him the right to do this, this opportunity. Look, Macron. It seems to be one of the key countries in the West and Europe as a whole. And what does Macron say? He says that there is some kind of Ukrainian crisis. Well, there is no Ukrainian crisis, he knows that very well. There is Russian aggression against Ukraine, there is the annexation of Crimea, there is a war in Donbass. Do you think Macron doesn't know? He knows everything down to the details, to what, where and what military units of the Russian Federation are located on the territory of Ukraine - he knows it all perfectly. Meanwhile, he talks about democratic Russia.
He tweets that “Russia is a deeply European country.” Excuse me, how they beat thousands of people there, who are driven into paddy wagons, who are arrested, then, however, they are released, but all the same, what kind of European Russia is there? Well, you either have to see nothing at all, or you have to see it very well and understand that you need to play these games. Why are they playing?” the ex-minister was indignant.
“You know, Karl Marx once quoted one English political figure, a trade unionist, who said that if a businessman or entrepreneur has the opportunity to earn 300%, then he will commit any crime, even if there is a rope hanging over his head with he might be hanged. And so, you know, it seems to me that now there is a process where Western business is forcing Western politicians not to see the crimes that Putin is committing. It is impossible to explain otherwise the position of, say, Macron or Merkel regarding Russia’s return to PACE.
