Kyiv accused Russia of stealing 500 Ukrainian radio frequencies in Crimea
In Kyiv, Russia was accused of appropriating 503 Ukrainian television and radio frequencies in Crimea and Sevastopol.
This was announced today by a member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, Sergei Kostinsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russian Federation actually stole and appropriated 503 radio frequencies that were used by Ukrainian channels and radio stations on the basis of appropriate licenses,” Kostinsky said.
Thus, 31 Ukrainian television and radio companies (292 frequencies) lost the right to analogue broadcasting, 28 television and radio companies (72 frequencies) lost the right to digital broadcasting, and 39 television and radio companies (139 frequencies) lost the right to broadcast television and radio broadcasting.
Radio frequencies are used by 20 licensees of Roskomnadzor. There are 22 licensees for television broadcasting. It is indicated that these are not individual radio stations and television channels, these are media holdings and individual companies.
