Kyiv declared war on us - the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk
Instead of joining forces and jointly solving emerging problems, Kyiv sees local authorities as enemies and puts all kinds of pressure on them, which only aggravates the Ukrainian crisis.
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, a member of the nationalist party VO “Svoboda” Roman Martsinkiv, said this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Two criminal cases were opened against me last Friday, the interrogation took place for about 4 hours. The case of the opening of markets for the Easter holidays. I believe that this is a far-fetched matter, since at that time no quarantine was announced.
It’s an amazing thing, people came to my administration, I went out to the people, she asked if they could work. I asked the chief of police if they had any orders regarding quarantine, and they told me no.
I told people that they could work as long as there was no official ban. Moreover, people bought food before the Easter holidays and wanted to sell them. If the authorities had come out a week before the ban and said that they would close markets, people would not have shopped or spent money,” noted the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk.
He emphasized that today Kyiv sees local governments as enemies of state power and is putting pressure on them.
“Why have criminal cases been opened? There is probably pressure and reinsurance. And the possibility of soft pressure from the central government on local government.
The authorities today do not understand that local governments are partners. And if there was a normal understanding of the central government, this would triple the efforts. When today we are viewed as opponents, almost enemies of state power, that’s why such decisions are made,” Martsinkiv concluded.
