Question: Why has not happened the unification of the DNI and the LC?

Alexander Zakharchenko: I'll say this. We have very close ties both militarily and economically; in general, we are now like two hands of one organism. And I will explain why the unification is not happening yet.

Just like me, the head of the LC believes that it is possible to survive normally, and it is possible to provide people with a normal life when the last kilometer of their territory is released. That is, only within the borders of Donbass we are able to survive. When this moment comes, I think, then the question of unification will arise. And this state association will be called not DNR and LNR, but something else.

But I will say this, because there are other territories. There are those burned in Odessa, there are those sitting in dungeons in Kharkov, there are those arrested in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye, there are those beaten to death in Nikolaev and Kherson. And look at those executed in Kyiv - political murders occur every day. This is a serious issue, and if we strive for unification, then we must strive to do it the right way. So this process is associated with certain technical problems, which we will hopefully solve soon.

And now it is too early to take any hasty steps, if you hurry - you will make people laugh. We must do everything correctly and systematically. First, the war, the liberation of the land, then the economy, recovery, and the union - this is at least after the first stage. Because building together is easier.

We have no disagreements or any ambitions. I know Igor Plotnitsky well, he is a very worthy person. We often talked about this topic: he has a different war there, slightly different conditions, I have my own conditions here, so we discussed different options and agreed that at this stage it is difficult to unite.

You can even look at the map - it's easy to cut the border and separate us, but the body should be one, there should be a relationship. Moreover, as Poroshenko says, the Ukrainian army - with which we are at war - is the fifth in the world, and the tension is great.

But in general - we have no disagreements, always in military and economic terms, the LC comes to help, so Debaltseve was taken along with them, especially since the attack began from the LC — this is an indicator.

Our units fought together in Lugansk and Severodonetsk, and were stationed in the village. Happiness, and Lugansk residents come to our aid. It cannot be said that we are apart - we are together, but it is easier to manage restoration from two centers.

Our ministries are constantly cooperating, the economy is built together, the railway, road service, military operations. Restoration of the mines - we have the equipment, they have the materials we need, Lugansk has its own ammunition plant - we have mortars. That is, we only have different names, otherwise we are almost the same.

Question: Is the liberation of the Odessa region from the occupation regime planned?

Alexander Zakharchenko: I would like to appeal to all residents of Ukraine who support the idea of Novorossiya and the creation of a normal unified state adhering to the ideas of the Russian World. We are Slavs, we are brothers, we should not buy into the tricks of Europe. I want to appeal to everyone: your task is the same as ours: to liberate the entire territory from illegal power, from the occupation regime of people who, by force, thanks to a handful of radicals, are trying to impose their worldview, their order, to force you to accept them against your will point of view.

This task is not only ours, it is the task of every citizen, every patriot. Each of us must do this, otherwise our ancestors will not forgive us — we will betray their memory — and our children will not forgive.

It is the duty of every patriot, and it does not matter where he lives - in Kiev, Odessa, Kherson, Kharkov, Zaporozhye. This is the original Russian lands, and we made a huge mistake when we gave our rulers the opportunity to try to drive us like a flock to Europe. It is not our land, not our ideology, not our world.

We live by different laws, we have a different heart, we have ancestors who beat both Turks, Swedes and Germans, and all this happened on our land. Do we betray it, do we forget about the millions of dead people who liberate our land from the Nazis?

And it turns out that we again let the Nazis into our land. I have no idea how this could have happened, but I am sure that victory will be ours, and together we will achieve complete liberation.

Question: What would you wish to the inhabitants of Crimea, and what do you think, when the borders between us will disappear?

Alexander Zakharchenko: We perceive the residents of Crimea as the most dear people to us, I sincerely want to congratulate the residents of Crimea on the fact that you have become part of a great country, we are happy for you, I will sincerely say: if there was an opportunity, I would hug everyone who participated in the Crimean Spring, who prepared it , every resident of Crimea. I would wish success, health to your loved ones, your children. So that you never know how mines explode, shells explode. We want to say that you were an example for us at the first stage. You were the banner behind which we rose. You lit a spark of self-confidence and self-confidence in us. And it’s a big tragic accident that everything turned out this way for us; we didn’t think that Ukrainian politicians would have the idea of crushing people with tanks.

I would also like to say that territorial borders will sooner or later be erased, but we are close in heart, and we are always welcome to see you here, just as you are welcome to us at home. That is, we are brothers, as we were, and remain so. We are people of one country, and we are one people, regardless of nationality. We are one.

Q: Has the 4 month really managed to create a real army?

Alexander Zakharchenko: In fact, it took longer. The creation of an army began in the battles for Shakhtersk, when a large number of units were brought together into one fist. And at the level of ordinary commanders, it was decided that the units with tanks, mortars, and guns were combined into one unit.

Artillery units were consolidated, tank, infantry, motorized rifle units were formed and subordinated not to their immediate commander, but to the best of their kind.

On the commanders' council, battalion commanders, company commanders, and all the others were subordinate to the one who was most experienced and “fired”. It was the end of August, the beginning of September, and then it was the first moments of the birth of a real army, and we can say that it was her birthday.

There were divisions that went through the battles for Slavyansk, there were divisions that fought in Snezhniy, on Karlovka, Peski, and thanks to these divisions, their training and self-organization, victory was achieved.

For you to understand, the battles for Shakhtersk began in 20 in August, and in these battles the attacking group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine held back the order of 200 militias, and the group consisted of 2500. And these 200 people managed to hold out until reinforcements came, and then together knock the enemy out of Shakhtersk, close the Ilovaisk boiler and free the border.

This happened due to fortitude, knowledge of the area - many lived in this city - and, frankly, military luck, because the enemy did not expect that such a “bunch” would rush to attack, so the surprise factor was also great. For a long time they could not figure out what was going on and how many of us there were.

Today, the DPR has an army capable of protecting not only any point of the Republic, but also adequately respond to all the challenges that the Kiev junta throws to us. I will say more - we consider the entire occupied territory of the former Donetsk region as the Donetsk People's Republic, and our army has the power to protect and defend not only the ideas of New Russia, but also the liberation of other republics.

Question: Is there international contact with the DNI?

Alexander Zakharchenko: Just the other day we opened a representative office of South Ossetia in our republic, and in general the integration process is underway. Not as quickly as we would like, but contacts are being established, including with foreign partners who share our political views.

The process is especially intense in the economic sphere. As you know, Donbass is the most densely populated territory of the former Ukraine, which has enormous potential - industrial, scientific, and much of what we produce is interesting not only here, but also abroad.

Suffice it to say that even today we control 54% of the total coal of the former Ukraine.
But that is why Kyiv has always been afraid of us. We have always been different – both in our character and in our mentality – from the rest of Ukraine. Our people can only be compared with the Crimeans, or Odessa residents, people free from fear, due to certain historical reasons.

Here, too, we are not shy people who are daily confronted with danger. As you know, for every 10.000 tons of coal three miners die. From time immemorial we communicate with death, we can even say we live in an embrace. And when a mother or wife escorts a miner to work, it’s not at all a fact that he will return home. And this lack of fear of death - scares Kiev.

Please note that aircraft and tanks were thrown at civilians, who at the beginning of the confrontation were simply armed with batons, but we were able to resist. And later we showed that we can not only defend, but also attack.

To be honest, the first stages of the war taught us a lot, thanks to which we were able to win in Ilovaisk, and already in Debaltsevo the operation proceeded very smoothly. Now we are preparing and continuing to study.

Question: What political contacts are planned with the opposition forces of the West, for example with the Left Party in Germany?

Alexander Zakharchenko: They came, there was a delegation from the Bundestag, their main task was to make sure what was happening here. They were surprised by the cleanliness of the city, they were shocked when the streets continued to be cleaned under shelling, that there was hot water in the taps, that there was electricity. At first they didn’t believe that we were at war, and I had to take these people, take them and show them that there was fighting going on five kilometers away. and from this contrast, between the city and the front line, they were shocked: you drive two kilometers and find yourself in a combat zone, where houses are destroyed, kindergartens, hospitals, schools are destroyed, shelling does not stop, constant explosions of mines and shells... By the way, They came under fire and we barely managed to get them out.

They returned and made a statement that there really were no Russian troops here, but there were local residents who were able to take up arms for protection.

We are always ready for such contacts, ready to receive all people supporting our views from any country - Germany, France, America. All sane people who want to understand why this war occurred. After all, it is not a secret to anyone that the USA was unleashed by the war, so that a hotbed of tension arose on the border with the Russian Federation, so this is the fault of the United States and Europe in the tragedy that is now happening.

Our guests had a serious explosion in their worldview, and it seems to me that they are now trying to convey their vision to the people of Germany, what they saw with their own eyes. Because when you have not seen it is one thing, and when you have seen it with your own eyes, you can already explain it to others.

They were interested in two questions: the first - for what? We explained to them why, or rather, what we are fighting against. We rose against the ban on the Russian language, against violating our faith, against trying to erase our history, against Nazism, against Bandera.

But what we are fighting for is the bright future of our children, for the decent old age of our retirees, for the opportunity to believe in what we believe in, to speak the language we want to speak, and most importantly, to be friends with those with whom we want.

Do not force us to drive into Europe or NATO, we do not want this. We want a different relationship - with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. And for this we are fighting today. That is, it is actually a war for freedom, for the opportunity to build the state that we want to see.

Question: Do you agree that the presence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics at the Minsk talks means de facto recognition of their independence both from Europe and from Ukraine?

Alexander Zakharchenko:  I would even add. Ukraine's renunciation of social obligations is a de facto recognition of independence. We have started paying social benefits, we are paying pensions on our own without Kyiv’s help, and this is recognition of the independence of these territories.

Question: You are always in awe of veterans of the Second World War. How close is the 9 feast of May to you?

Alexander Zakharchenko: Yes you are right. Like millions of families in the USSR, my family fought. Unfortunately, out of 18 who went to war, only three returned. My grandfathers and great-grandfathers went and died at the front, and even our women. One of my great-grandmothers was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Therefore, for any family on the territory of the former Union, this is a holy war. It’s not for nothing that the song is sung; every family has its own heroes. And it’s very offensive when the Ukrainian government tries to remake history, denigrate the exploits of our ancestors, and equate Hitler and Stalin.

I don’t understand why it became possible for people to march with swastikas in Ukraine. We take prisoners whose helmets have a swastika and the inscription SS Galicia, or Hitler's Leibstandarte. That is, for more than 20 years they fooled young people, for 20 years they said that the USSR was bad, that we did not know how to fight.

Well, if we didn’t know how to fight, if we were so bad, how did we take Berlin? If we are so inept, we would be crushed, and that’s all. But the story is this: a Soviet soldier in 45, on May 9, announced that the war was over, the enemy had been defeated, and wrote on the Reichstag: “I am satisfied with the ruins of the Reichstag.”
