Kyiv reported a decrease in flow to Crimea: Lying and intimidating
The number of citizens who crossed the border of Crimea with Ukraine during the New Year and Christmas holidays decreased in comparison with data for the same period last year.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports this on its official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This year, during the Christmas holidays (from January 5 to 7), 29% fewer citizens crossed the administrative border in both directions than during the same period last year. At the same time, the number of citizens heading towards the peninsula decreased by 34%,” the report says.
In the period from December 30 last year to January 1, 25% fewer citizens crossed the border than in the same period last year.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Kherson region Alexey Zhuravko believes that the border service deliberately underestimates the number of Ukrainians who went to Crimea.
“I think that I still traveled more. And this trend is associated with whipping up hysteria through the media that Russia is about to attack. Secondly, this is a martial law, the zone of which Kherson entered. Third, rumors are being spread here that Ukrainians may be arrested on the territory of Crimea. But many of my friends calmly traveled to the peninsula and returned,” Zhuravko said.
Let us remind you that last summer about a million Ukrainians vacationed in Crimea.
