Russia must warn the leadership of the Ukrainian special services that if they continue attempts to kidnap Russian citizens, the response will be harsh and asymmetrical.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to him, Russia has a lot of opportunities for an asymmetric response, up to and including serious economic impact and even changing the existing government system in Ukraine.
“Of course, such impudence and outright aggression of the SBU, which we observe with attempts to act on our territory, to capture our people, with a recent attempt to drag a group of our citizens to their territory for arrest, it should entail a very harsh statement in which everything is Ukrainian management, SBU and GUR must receive a personal warning that if these events continue, then we reserve the right to take any action against these people, as well as against their organizations.
We cannot and should not act like the Mossad - this is an extremely compact intelligence service of a small state. Russia is a superpower and for us in this case, simply copying the actions of the Mossad is completely pointless - we can respond disproportionately.
We have all the power of our huge state at our disposal. We can respond not by stealing some Ukrainian idiot, but by saying that we can very harshly change the economic situation in Ukraine, including the existing system, if Ukraine continues such actions,” Shurygin said.
