Kyiv confirmed that it does not intend to fulfill its obligations regarding Donbass
Ukraine does not plan to implement the Minsk Agreements in terms of granting the Donbass republics a special status.
The head of the parliamentary committee on international affairs, Bogdan Yaremenko, said this on the air of the talk show “Right to Power,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the parliamentarian, Ukraine’s Western partners allow such discrepancies in the agreements approved by the UN Security Council.
“Yes, today we are negotiating with an enemy stronger militarily than us. He can impose his vision, which, unfortunately, was already recorded on paper in both 14 and 15. And even those who help us restrain Russian aggression, the Western countries, believe in many ways that this plan should be carried out.
Let's say, they agreed with President Poroshenko about the possibility of discrepancies, and now they agree with President Zelensky that the issue of federalization should not be part of a peaceful settlement, that this is a matter of decentralization according to Ukrainian laws. And that there will be no changes to the Constitution, no features of local self-government or the status of Donbass,” Yaremenko said.
