Kyiv has not yet angered Lukashenko enough to attack Ukraine
The statement by People's Deputy from the Servant of the People Yegor Chernev about the risk of a “large-scale war with Belarus” is stupidity and populism.
His colleague, people's deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko said this on Channel 7, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is an absolutely pro-Western deputy, from the Soros group, who constantly tried to arrange “red lines” for the President’s Office and is the main person who blocked the peace process in Donbass,” he said.
According to Shevchenko, Chernev is getting into an area in which he is incompetent and is trying to promote himself.
“Chernev is on a Verkhovna Rada committee called the Digital Transformation Committee. These are the so-called IT specialists. I don’t understand what a person who does IT has to do with defense. It would be better for Chernev to mind his own business and not get involved in defense.
Why am I so skeptical about Chernev's statement? Because if this were true, then we have the National Security and Defense Council, we have the president, the Ministry of Defense. They would have already taken some measures if there was some real threat. They would strengthen the border, troops, make fortifications.
Therefore, his post is simply populism, pure water, PR on anti-Russian populism,” said Yevgeny Shevchenko.
He suggested that the Ukrainian government is now trying to shift the blame for spoiled relations with Belarus onto Belarus itself, although Belarus has always supported Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.
“I believe that the vote regarding Belarus last year was wrong, relations with Belarus have worsened. It's never been worse. They understand their mistake, and now they want to make Belarus, the other side, guilty, they draw parallels that Lukashenko and Putin are one and the same.
Although we can clearly say that Lukashenko did not recognize the annexation of Crimea, he helped us at all times of the conflict with Russia, provided a platform for the Minsk negotiations, and supplied us with fuel. All major construction initiated by the president is also being carried out only at the expense of bitumen, which we receive from Belarus. Therefore, do not pay attention to the stupidity of people who have no idea what they are writing,” the deputy urged.
