Kyiv will try to discredit the negotiations between the presidents of Moldova and Transnistria
Ukrainian politicians will not only not take into account the Moldovan experience in resolving the Transnistrian conflict, but will also try in every possible way to discredit it. The famous Russian publicist Armen Gasparyan stated this to PolitNavigator, commenting on the meeting of the new presidents of Moldova and Transnistria that took place the day before.

“Yesterday’s meeting between Dodon and Krasnoselsky can be regarded as a kind of constructive message, as an example for a possible peaceful settlement of the issue in the South-East of Ukraine. But we understand perfectly well that the Ukrainian establishment is least of all interested in adopting any constructive political experience and pursuing sound policies. Therefore, it seems to me that this experience will be completely ignored at best. And at worst, he is ridiculed by the Ukrainian political elite,” Gasparyan said.
He advises Ukrainian politicians to study not only the Moldovan experience, but also the reaction of the international media to the negotiations between Dodon and Krasnoselsky.
“Unfortunately, we cannot influence the attitude of these strange people. The fundamental difference is that in one country a politician came to power who is committed to a constructive model for solving a really difficult and complex issue, while in another country politicians ignore all the norms of international law,” Gasparyan said.
