Kyiv presented an ultimatum to the Crimean parliament: abandon the referendum by tomorrow
Kyiv, March 11 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Verkhovna Rada is going to recognize the decision on the Crimean referendum as unconstitutional and threatens to dissolve the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea

The President of the country, Alexander Turchinov, registered a statement from the Verkhovna Rada to terminate the decision of the Supreme Council of Crimea to hold a referendum on March 16, at which it is planned to resolve the issue of joining the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation.

The resolution states that the decision to hold a referendum violates several articles of the Constitution of Ukraine related to the integrity and sovereignty of the state.
The appeal of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the President of Russia is also proposed to be recognized as unconstitutional, since this body “is not vested with the authority to carry out foreign policy relations.”
The Crimean authorities are required to immediately reconsider the decision to hold a referendum. Otherwise, if by March 12 it is not brought in accordance with the Constitution, the Ukrainian parliament threatens to initiate the issue of early suspension of the powers of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
And finally, parliamentarians consider it advisable to contact the Venice Commission regarding the scheduled referendum.
