Kyiv turned the prisoner exchange into an outrageous outrage

This is how political scientist and radio host Armen Gasparyan assessed the results of the event in a commentary to “PolitNavigatork”.
“All the preliminary work was essentially done by representatives of the Russian Federation. I mean Vladimir Putin, who personally called and resolved these issues, and Patriarch Kirill, and so on. On the part of official Kyiv, President Poroshenko, the Verkhovna Rada, and the government, we saw complete sabotage of this entire process. In particular, it continued today with these attempts to disrupt the exchange and shout to the whole world under the same news feed. What depresses me most in this situation is Kyiv’s desire to transfer political prisoners to the DPR who have never lived in Donbass and who now have to start life from scratch. This is beyond disgusting. In this way, all human rights are violated, but today I was in vain expecting to see at least some reaction from PACE, OSCE, and other international organizations on this matter. Although it is human rights that are the basic structure in the European Union. But the main thing is that the exchange took place. This is another step, albeit a small one, towards resolving the issue. Another question is that all the same, even today Ukrainian politicians continued to make belligerent statements. The escalation of the conflict, which means the danger of new prisoners, is not going away from the agenda,” Gasparyan said.
