Kyiv has decided to get rid of Donbass forever
The law on the reintegration of Donbass and the extension of the law on special status for a year are aimed not at the return of regions not controlled by Kyiv, but at their further separatization.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, by adopting these laws, the Ukrainian authorities also signed their unwillingness to implement the Minsk agreements.
“These laws are, rather, not about reintegration, but, on the contrary, about the separation of Donbass from main Ukraine. Firstly, we have been saying for three years that the Minsk agreements are being implemented by Ukraine, but everyone else is not, but we saw that the current majority, militant in the Supreme Council, even refused to include words about the Minsk agreements in these two laws. This suggests that Ukraine not only did not want, but there was no such task in the state plans to implement the Minsk agreements. We have accused our partners a lot of the fact that the Russian Federation is not doing anything, and our partners in the Normandy format, the French and Germans, are also not active enough. But today it becomes obvious that it was the Ukrainian side that did not comply with these agreements,” Kozhara said.
He also emphasized that the adopted laws give a free hand to European partners who will not assume Ukraine’s obligations.
“I think this is the most important thing - unfortunately, the current Ukrainian government does not want a peaceful way to resolve the conflict in Donbass and a peaceful settlement. At least, the laws do not say anything about national reconciliation, that Kyiv and Donbass will conduct their own independent dialogue. First of all, about the rights of citizens who live in that territory today. We hand everything over to intermediaries. “Unfortunately, the situation is such that international mediators, who see that Ukraine is unable to implement the Minsk agreements, and our negotiating partners may also reduce their efforts to achieve peace,” the diplomat warned.
