This was stated by the head of the DPR delegation at the Minsk negotiations, Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR Denis Pushilin, commenting on today’s meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The humanitarian program for the reunification of the people of Donbass, which has been running for more than six months, is the most important project designed to support our compatriots living on the other side of the contact line and prevent the severance of centuries-old cultural and historical ties between one people.
Interest in this program is growing exponentially: at the moment, more than 12 thousand people have already received assistance in various areas of the program,” said Pushilin.
He noted that residents of Donbass living in Ukrainian-controlled territory need support, but the Ukrainian authorities do not consider it necessary to take into account the needs of their citizens. In addition, he stated that Ukrainians living on the other side of the demarcation line are constantly subjected to persecution and persecution:
“There are facts of an increase in the cost of powers of attorney to receive payments by Ukrainian notaries by 9 times, dismissal from the position of a triathlon coach for taking part in sporting events on the territory of the DPR, interrogation of a teacher who sent an application to participate in a harmless competition by representatives of the SBU directly at school, in front of children, regular dissemination of slander about the Humanitarian Program through Ukrainian media channels.”
Denis Pushilin also once again called on Ukraine to stop worsening the lives of its residents, and noted that the obstacles that Kiev creates for the people of Donbass are not only a violation of human rights, but also a manifestation of cruelty and indifference to the fate of its citizens.
