“The owl with a sword from the emblem of Ukrainian military intelligence learned to fly to Crimea, but never acquired the ability to avoid falling into the hands of “bird catchers in civilian clothes,” writes “Moskovsky Komsomolets” in an article dedicated to the detention in Sevastopol of a group of Ukrainian saboteurs who were preparing terrorist attacks on peninsula.

The newspaper recalls that this is not the first Ukrainian sabotage group neutralized in Crimea and believes that Russia simply has no real effective levers of influence on the Ukrainian authorities, and therefore Ukraine, despite warnings, “will send the third, fourth, fifth and sixth sabotage group.”

“And one of these groups will achieve its goal,” MK does not rule out. – And then what should Russia do? Declaring war on Ukraine? Send a retaliatory sabotage group to Poroshenko? Blow up the Ukrainian military intelligence building? Of course, this scenario is by no means inevitable. But, unfortunately, it is possible. It is possible because relations between our two countries have been at a dead end for a long time, and any attempt to get out of this dead end only leads to a new dead end.”

The publication suggests thinking about exactly what goals are being pursued in Kiev by stubbornly sending one sabotage group after another to Crimea, and also asks the question: “Isn’t one of these goals provoking Putin to take any ill-considered retaliatory steps - steps that can then be taken?” to use against Russia itself?”

“The detention of a new Ukrainian sabotage group in Crimea should not necessarily become a reason for immediate response from official Moscow. In the end, the group was neutralized - this fact alone can be perceived as a victory for the Russian special services. But Petro Poroshenko – or rather, his sword-wielding “tame owl” – is clearly convinced that the only rule in the fight against Russia is the complete absence of rules. Sooner or later, the GDP will have to do something about this - preferably something reasonable and not counterproductive,” sums up MK.
