Kyiv is losing the battle against the pandemic, but refuses the Russian vaccine
It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Ukrainian authorities to explain to their citizens why Kyiv does not want to use the Russian anti-Covid vaccine in the country.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, Kommersant writes.
“Kyiv is losing the battle against the pandemic, but is not accepting help from Moscow,” the article notes.
The publication draws attention to the latest interview with The New York Times by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who complained that his country is not on the list of countries that are the first to receive Western vaccines.
“Of course, it is impossible to explain to Ukrainian society why they should not take vaccines from Russia when America and Europe do not provide them,” Zelensky said.
He also called for the Russian vaccine not to be allowed into Ukraine.
“We must not allow Ukraine to take a Russian vaccine that has not passed all tests. You and I have no real evidence that this vaccine has a XNUMX% positive effect. Moreover, I cannot take responsibility for a vaccine whose effects we do not know,” said the President of Ukraine.
