This opinion was expressed in a comment to Kommersant by Andrei Kortunov, Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council.
“Kyiv sees its strategic task as in the future to involve the United States as much as possible in the conflict in eastern Ukraine. After receiving lethal weapons, Kyiv may try to raise the question of the appearance of American instructors in Ukraine, who will have to teach the Ukrainian military how to handle this equipment,” the expert does not rule out.
According to the expert, the decision on Javelin once again demonstrated that President Trump has very limited room for maneuver.
“This is not the most pleasant decision for Moscow, but we can’t expect anything else in the current conditions,” Kortunov is convinced.
