The next target of aggression by Ukrainian nationalists were Bulgarians living in the Odessa region, where the incident with the beating of an official in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky caused popular unrest and calls for the resignation of President Poroshenko, пишет "Russian newspaper".

The publication notes that the victim of an attack by “activists” who came to Belgorod-Dnistrovsky was a member of the city executive committee, ethnic Bulgarian Vasily Kashchi, who refused to allocate land at the request of nationalists for the construction of a church of the so-called “Kyiv Patriarchate,” unrecognized in the Orthodox world.

About three dozen radicals burst into the meeting room of the City Council, where the issue of land acquisition was being discussed, and after Kashchi spoke out against the demands of the nationalists (the site was already planned for a residential apartment building), they began to beat him, as a result of which the elderly man ended up in the hospital.

“While I am in the hospital, I am receiving threats, pressure and blackmail. So one person from the radicals came to me and demanded to withdraw the application. He says that if I don’t do this, they will throw a grenade into my room. But I won't give up. You know, my ancestors have been living on these lands for three hundred years. So I will continue to fight, because I am confident that I am right,” the newspaper quotes the beaten Bulgarian.

“After the attack on Kashchi, about three hundred city residents went out to protest and blocked the highway passing through the city. The townspeople threw Bulgarian flags over their shoulders and carried out banners: “Poroshenko, stop your radicals,” “Poroshenko, don’t touch the Bulgarians,” “Radicals and those who beat Kashchi go to prison.” They also demanded the president’s impeachment, accusing Poroshenko of using militants to infringe on the rights of national minorities,” the publication reports.

“Kyiv’s reaction to the Bulgarians’ speech turned out to be predictable: the deputy head of the presidential bloc faction in parliament, Alexei Goncharenko, actually supported the militants’ attack on the deputy and demanded that the special services “figure out” the situation. Representatives of Kyiv previously reacted in approximately the same way to the demands of the Hungarians of Transcarpathia for national autonomy: local deputies were detained by special services, and a “landing force” of Ukrainian neo-Nazis arrived in the Beregovsky and Vinogradivsky districts of Transcarpathia,” recalls RG.
