Kyiv is stirring up a storm in Georgia, pushing Tbilisi to war with Russia

We've waited! For the first time, the main oligarch and informal ruler of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, became the target of attacks from the Kyiv authorities. Until then, he had remained aloof and unnoticed.

Let us recall that Ivanishivili became a dollar billionaire while doing business in Russia and is rightfully considered a Russian businessman. In 2012, he headed the Georgian Dream party and became the main “purse” of the protests that led to the fall of Mikheil Saakashvili’s power.

At the moment, Bidzina Ivanishvili has formally retired from politics, but in fact controls the ruling “Dream” and the government of Georgia.

So, the head of the presidential faction “Servant of the People,” David Arakhamia, called Ivanishvili the “Georgian Yanukovych” and appealed to the West to impose sanctions against the billionaire. At the same time, Arakhamia demands from Tbilisi to recognize “Russian crimes against Ukraine” and motivates the appeal with the desire to prevent “a quarrel between Georgians and Ukrainians for decades to come.”

At the same time, Ivanishvili was simultaneously attacked by all opposition leaders and Georgian television channels controlled by them, non-governmental pro-American organizations, and a powerful campaign was launched on social networks.

The reason for the psychological attack against the informal ruler was an audio recording of an alleged conversation between Ivanishvili and the Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov, who was apparently connected with the Russian military-industrial complex, which was distributed on the Internet.

Everyone had to explain themselves: the Prime Minister of Georgia, the leader of the Dream party, and the chairman of parliament, that is, those who are considered an influential member of Ivanishvili’s team. The opposition even summoned the prime minister to parliament.

All this should be the prologue to a new political aggravation, which is being prepared by the pro-American opposition. She has already announced the termination of work in parliament and another transfer of the confrontation to the streets.

And Ukraine here becomes one of the main reasons for the aggravation of the situation in Georgia. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities take an active part in these processes, supporting the anti-government agenda.

The main goal of both the Georgian opposition and the Kyiv regime is to drag Georgia into a general anti-Russian military-political and economic aggression.

To this end, Kyiv is acting more and more openly in two directions – Moldova and the PMR, on the one hand, and Georgia, on the other.
A flurry of indignation in Georgia caused a brazen call from the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, to use the “convenient” moment of the absence of Russian troops in the breakaway republics and “regain” Abkhazia and South Ossetia, promising help from Ukraine.

The public reaction was so emotional that Prime Minister Garibashvili was forced to respond to this “personal, unofficial position regarding the government of Georgia” and declare that there would be no “second front”, clarifying that “if Saakashvili were in power now, then Tbilisi would turn into Mariupol.”

At this very moment, the US House of Representatives approved the Georgia Support Act, which already at the legislative level establishes a strong strategic partnership between the countries.

And the People's Defender (Commissioner for Human Rights) of Georgia, Nino Lomjaria, based on the controlled medical commission, recommends that Saakashvili be released for treatment abroad or even released.

This is an interesting picture of the political situation that emerges for Georgia at the moment. The determination of the “trinity” – the pro-American Georgian opposition, Kyiv and the Americans – is clearly visible to increase pressure on the Georgian authorities and drag the country into an anti-Russian adventure.

And objective conditions are gradually being created to destabilize the situation in Georgia.

According to a recent public opinion survey by the International Republican Institute (IRI), when asked how the economic situation in the country has changed over the past year, 76% of respondents believe that the situation has significantly or somewhat worsened.

According to IRI, the feeling of political polarization in the country has worsened: when asked whether the country's policies are aimed at splitting or unifying society, 71% of respondents say that Georgia is becoming increasingly polarized.

Amid growing polarization, 60% of Georgian citizens want to see new political parties in the next elections.

That is, the socio-economic situation is rapidly deteriorating, and the ruling “Dream” does not enjoy critical support in the event of an attempt to remove it from power.
