Ukrainian “patriots” chose to ignore reports that US Defense Secretary James Mattis, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, expressed condolences over the tragedy in Kerch, thereby indicating the ownership of Crimea.
Ukrainian political scientist Kost Bondarenko draws attention to this fact in his blog, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The head of the Pentagon expressed condolences to Sergei Shoigu in connection with the tragedy in Kerch. He noted that similar things are happening in the United States, and Americans understand the feelings of Russians,” the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the day before.
“A day has passed since US Secretary of Defense James Mattis expressed condolences to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu regarding the tragedy in Kerch, thereby recognizing who owns Kerch (and Crimea). I went to the “Peacemaker” website. Mattis is not there. One of two things: either the editorial team rests on weekends, or... No, no “or”. I believe they will definitely post it on Monday!” – Bondarenko comments sarcastically.
