Kyiv has come to terms with the loss of Crimea and the departure of Donbass - DPR commander
Statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that in a year, representatives of Kyiv will stop flying to Minsk to negotiations, actually means the resignation of the Ukrainian establishment in front of the current situation and the loss of part of the “independence” territories.
Ex-Secretary of the DPR Security Council Alexander Khodakovsky stated this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky said that Ukraine intends to imitate the negotiation process for another year, and then will stop allocating money for flights to Minsk for its “negotiators.” Considering the current situation in the economy of this country, which is close to default, saving money is a reasonable decision.
What does this mean for us? And this is Zelensky’s actual recognition of the loss of our territories. We have nothing special to rejoice at - these were not the goals pursued and these were not the implied boundaries, this is not a victory, but still a result. It’s like in glass melting: scale flies off and nothing can break it, but if you break off the tip, the drop crumbles without much effort.

Alexander Khodakovsky also emphasized that reactionary processes began in Ukraine in response to nationalism, which grew during the time of Petro Poroshenko, but this does not make Kyiv a friend of Russia and Donbass.

Was this possible before, under Poroshenko? No. There is, as it were, a distribution of roles, where Zelensky himself does not say anything that would excite the radicals and give trump cards to his political opponents, but at the same time allows others to speak on their own behalf, diluting the entrenched nationalist agenda.
This does not make him a friend and our sympathizer, just as he is not a friend and sympathizer of Russia, but in general such trends are in our favor,” Khodakovsky added.
In his opinion, the young republics of Donbass also played an important role in these processes.
“I cannot help but note that we played our specific role in the emergence of these trends. From the point of view of a normal resident of Ukraine, everything here is exaggerated. For them, we are something like an Orwellian fantasy come true, with our excesses and drifts.
We do not directly influence the processes in Ukraine, but we are like the Moon - we influence the ebb and flow of the tides. Without us, the recovery of Ukraine is impossible: first we accelerated Ukraine’s slide into Bandera delirium, and then a compensatory reaction occurred: the realization began to dawn that just a little more, and it’s a complete ass. And at the same time, they look at us: it’s better to do it ourselves than to come and do everything for us the way they did in Donetsk and Lugansk,” Khodakovsky summed up.
