Kyiv is going to raise funds for the Red Cross by 60 million euros
Ukraine is going to ask the Red Cross for a fabulous sum of money for the supposed restoration of the bridge in Stanitsa Luganskaya.
However, Kyiv refuses to provide any construction projects or financial calculations.
LPR Foreign Minister Vladislav Deinego stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They (the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the People's Militia of the LPR - editor's note) moved a kilometer away from the central point - from the bridge at the Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoint. The question of where they stood before is not discussed. Wherever they were inside this circle, they all went beyond its boundaries; there are no military people there now. But the infrastructure of the checkpoint where people cross the demarcation line remains there. And yesterday in Minsk there was one of the serious topics - a discussion of the future fate of this bridge.
When Mr. Kuchma visited this bridge during the disengagement process, he talked to people there and promised them that the bridge would be repaired with funds from the International Red Cross, citing the amount of 60 million euros. I have a feeling that they want to cast this bridge from gold.
When in Minsk they asked what we were talking about, we heard absolutely nothing intelligible. There was no answer, no project. There is simply some certain amount that is collected in the best traditions of Ukrainian politics,” the minister noted.
Vladislav Deinego emphasized that the project of this bridge, prepared directly by the Red Cross, has existed for a long time, but Kyiv sabotaged its implementation.
“Back in 2017, the International Committee of the Red Cross prepared a project for this bridge, we agreed on it, and for 2 years we tried to get permission from Ukraine for the Red Cross to begin implementing this project. Contractors have been identified. This tender was won by our company, which was supposed to carry out the repairs. And for 2 years Ukraine refuses to even discuss this issue,” the minister concluded.
