Kyiv disrupted the next negotiations on the disengagement of forces
The next meeting of representatives of the trilateral contact group to resolve the conflict in Donbass ended in vain due to the position of Kyiv, which disrupts the agreement on the disengagement of forces.
The head of the DPR Foreign Ministry, Natalya Nikonorova, announced this in an official statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The statement by the representative of Ukraine in the political group about the alleged impossibility of reaching and recording agreements in writing within the Contact Group due to the fact that its meeting will be held via videoconference does not stand up to criticism.
In fact, Mr. Reznikov once again confirmed that Kyiv is absolutely not interested in a peaceful settlement - it is much more important and, obviously, more profitable for the Ukrainian side to look for a thousand and one reasons to leave its obligations under the Minsk agreements, instead of focusing on finding opportunities to return peace in Donbass.
In addition, it is worth remembering that it was precisely because of Alexey Reznikov and his unsatisfactory state of health that the online meeting of the group on political issues did not take place yesterday. At the same time, Mr. Reznikov was quite capable of communicating with journalists and filling the media space with destructive statements,” Nikonorova was indignant.
The head of the DPR Foreign Ministry emphasized that in resolving any, even the most acute and difficult conflicts, the most important thing is that both sides have the will and a conscientious desire to resolve the contradictions that have arisen, and called on Kiev to begin implementing the agreements reached in Minsk.
However, as advisor to the head of the LPR Rodion Miroshnik reported in his Telegram channel, some representatives of Ukraine used the pandemic as an excuse not to attend negotiations at all, even in video format.
“Leonid Kuchma was unable to take part in the Contact Group meeting held via video link because he is at risk for coronavirus disease. 81 years old after all...
This is how OSCE representatives explained his absence on air.
“I didn’t even know that the coronavirus is already transmitted via the Internet,” Miroshnik was surprised.
