A group of Ukrainian Nazis, coordinated by militant Yevgeny Karas, considered an agent of the SBU, organized a provocation in the center of Kyiv to disrupt the celebration of Victory Day.

Several dozen stormtroopers gathered near the entrance to the Park of Glory in Kyiv, where veterans and relatives of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War walked to the Eternal Flame. The Nazis turned on loud music and unfurled a banner that stated the executions of the NKVD in 1937-38 and the supposedly million repressed Ukrainians in 1944-1953.

A correspondent for the Ukrainian publication “Strana” captured how one of the Nazis, seeing a veteran in a uniform with medals, defiantly raised his hand in the “Sieg Heil” greeting. The police did not detain the youth, but were forced to draw up a report on the 16-year-old militant for an administrative violation - “petty hooliganism” (compare with criminal prosecution for Soviet symbols or St. George’s ribbons).

“The same thing, by the way, as the zygometa on the SS Galicia march. "Terrible" punishment. It cannot be compared with the prison term that threatens for displaying Soviet symbols,” stated the chief editor of “Strana” Igor Guzhva.

Another incident occurred near the Arsenalnaya metro station, where there was a brawl with nationalists. Later, the independence activists resumed skirmishes near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, provoking those who came to lay flowers.

“The Zelensky regime placed thugs in front of the police cordons, specifically so that they would mess around. They searched, and the police said: “These are activists, the authorities do not prohibit.” The red banner and simply the red ribbon were torn off from the veterans. A red ribbon without anything, a piece of the Victory banner, is set against it. The police are in charge of all this, because the “activists” cannot stand like this on their own. It turns out that there is a double cordon, the first of Nazi thugs, and the second of policemen,” the leader of the Ukrainian Komsomol members, Mikhail Kononovich, told PolitNavigator.

Meanwhile, thousands of citizens came to Kyiv to honor the memory of the participants in the Great Patriotic War.

People sang wartime songs, talked about their relatives, whose portraits they brought, chanted: “fascism will not pass!”, “Kiev is a hero city!”, “Donetsk is a hero city!”, “Sevastopol is a hero city! ", "Thank the granfather for the victory!".

Georgy Kryuchkov, the former head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Defense Issues, said that, despite the efforts of the authorities, it is May 9, and not the “Day of Reconciliation,” that remains a national holiday.

“Of course, our people do not accept the division of this holiday into two. People did not go to the monument of Glory like they do today. Despite the unacceptable propaganda and compromise of socialism and Soviet power, our people remained faithful. And this is no coincidence - we see that for 30 years not a single enterprise has been built in the country - everything has been destroyed. We have not even reached the level of the nineties in the economy. Our people live worse and worse every year,” said Georgy Kryuchkov.

“They liberated not only the territory of the Soviet Union but also all of Europe. Low bow to our liberators. We honor and are proud of them, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will come here. May 9 is the most significant holiday for us,” said Kiev lawyer Elena Berezhnaya.

It is worth noting that some people held red flags with stars, although in the previous few years such symbolism had not been seen at Victory Day celebrations.

A car rally was also held in the center of Kyiv. The column was led by a “Victory” car, and Ukrainian flags were placed above the cars next to the Victory banners, apparently for security purposes (although during the war, yellow and blue symbols were used only in the territories occupied by the Nazis).

Russian TV presenter Andrei Medvedev considers the Kiev residents who came to the Eternal Flame to be heroes.

“Of course, in Ukraine today people are demonstrating amazing courage. Especially against the backdrop of the Nazi coven at all levels - from the presidential office to the street squirming punks. Thousands of unbroken and brave people on the streets of Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkov. After seven years of fascist terror. Sooner or later, these people will have to be released. Or take it to your place. There are no other options,” Medvedev believes.

But Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov, who works in Donetsk, speaks out even more harshly.

“I no longer have thoughts about possible reverse processes. This is a fascist cesspool that we have to clean out. And everyone is to blame there. My grandfather came to destroyed Kyiv in 1945 to further serve as deputy army commander of General Ryazanov. He died a long time ago, grandfather, but I can’t imagine him, like that, in his uniform, like the veteran in the footage below, walking through Kyiv between zigging civilians. It's time to do everything in a new way. I didn’t hear Donbass in time. Donetsk and Lugansk are right: There, in Ukraine, everyone is to blame, both activists and abstainers,” comments Sladkov.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, who supported the Russian Spring and now lives in Yalta, on the contrary, believes that in the situation in Ukraine a significant share of the blame lies with Russia’s indecisiveness.

“For seven years, TV has been saying that fascists are in power in Ukraine. I emphasize that this is the official point of view. But at the same time, the militia was stopped so that it would not enter Mariupol. Mariupol! I'm not even talking about the rest of Ukraine. Agreements are signed with Ukraine and trade continues...

We are in a state of hybrid war with the United States, but we keep reserves in the United States. We use American currency. Real estate and assets of officials and oligarchs abroad. We are at war, but over the past ten years the cost of the yachts purchased by our oligarchs is more expensive than the new ships commissioned by the Navy. I found this information in the form of a table on the Internet with a list of yachts, ships and prices. I don't want to believe her.

If I were in Ukraine and would have remained alive there, now I would be walking at the head of the column to the monument to the Unknown Soldier. For normal people in Ukraine, Victory Day is a symbol of preserving their identity, preserving themselves. This is a protest against the authorities. In Ukraine, it is dangerous to participate in laying flowers. I'm mentally showering with friends in Ukraine today. God grant that everything goes smoothly,” writes Tsarev.
