Kyiv can no longer influence Odessa, Kharkov and Lviv
Today, Ukraine is ruled by a “colony of protozoa,” which implies a high probability of death for the country.
This is the conclusion reached by Yulia Mostovaya, who from 2011 to 2019 served as editor-in-chief of the Kyiv weekly Zerkalo Nedeli, which has ceased its print publication since the beginning of this year.
“Almost no one is interested in the state’s loss of controllability and the sham of its institutions. Kyiv can no longer significantly influence the situation in Odessa, Kharkov, Sumy or Lvov. He can only mumble around as helpless milk governors, not understanding how to raise the indigenous ones. Unpunished corruption has descended to the average level, and even any customs shift supervisor has more power than a fashionable customs chief. More and more people do not turn to the police in case of theft or attack - after all, many of them today, even for bribes, cannot do what yesterday’s people were too lazy to do,” notes the author in an article on the website of the online version of the publication.
“Justice is restored by bandits, former policemen huddled in packs, or ATO soldiers who have not found themselves in peaceful life. It is a rare child in the regional center who does not use the services of a tutor, compensating for what is not given by the teacher. Everyone who has even the slightest opportunity is looking for an alternative to a government specialist in a private clinic. Where will we find a replacement for nuclear scientists, whose numbers and qualifications are kept at the red line with enormous difficulty?” the journalist laments.
According to her, to solve these problems, the President of Ukraine needs a complete reboot of both his office and the government.
“After all, for now, coronavirus is about power: there is a crown on the head, and the country is led by a colony of protozoa with a highly likely lethal outcome for the organism in which it is located,” Mostovaya sums up.
