Kyiv is furious over the failure of broadcasting to Crimea
Member of the National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Sergei Kostinsky sharply criticized the “Crimean Human Rights Group” for publishing research data according to which A 150-meter tower built in the Kherson region turned out to be useless for broadcasting to the peninsula – Ukrainian waves there are blocked by Russian radio stations.

“You have done nothing to help me or the broadcasters. Everyone who wants to help comes and works as one team, understanding all the risks. And they bear responsibility for it. And you are just promoting yourself in front of donors, and you don’t have to answer for anything,” Kostinsky accused the author of the study, Irina Sedova.

“Instead of helping us work in this direction, realizing that there is an information war going on, you decided to promote yourself and help the Russian media. Thank you. It has become much easier to work... Well done, they made the work of the FSB easier,” the official added.
“You don’t know how much it costs, you don’t know what a radio frequency resource is and how difficult it is to find it for broadcasting, you don’t know what the licensing system is and how difficult it is to simplify it, you don’t know what it means to attract TV channels and radio stations for which these territories do not make commercial sense. You don’t know what it’s like to work without government funding. You don't know anything about our work. But you burn it in one moment,” Kostinsky continued.
“I’ll explain our strategy: 1. The first stage of broadcasting is being launched, with the participation of TV channels and radio stations. The enemy begins to jam. 2. The second stage of broadcasting is launched with the participation of new radio stations and television channels, new networks are created. The third stage of broadcasting starts, etc. All this happens gradually, because the development of broadcasting is an extremely complex and expensive process. But no. Komsomol members begin to betray and jeopardize the entire project. Do you want broadcasters to refuse to work in the Crimean direction? Hello, you have now done a lot for this,” a member of the National Council accuses Sedova of “zrada.”
Irina Sedova herself rejected the accusations against her.
“The statements of our politicians that Ukrainian radio stations are broadcasting in Crimea, when in fact they don’t really broadcast there, hit Ukraine’s ratings in the eyes of Crimeans much more strongly than the bitter, but true,” she answered Kostinsky.
